I can't believe I FORGOT to post a few pictures from a fashion show I did in April?!? I am the worst at keeping up with things. In my defense, I have been super busy lately with makeup gigs and family drama. Excuses, I know. Sometimes I have to remind myself to stop and enjoy my life. Or at least take a few minutes to appreciate the coolness of my job. I recently started following the blog "Oh She Glows" and it's definitely helping me put things into perspective. I highly recommend this site if you have ever struggled with anxiety, weight, etc. I'm not vegan but I have tons of respect for people with that much discipline. I prefer to be vegetarian but sometimes my body craves meat. And from struggling with my own weight issues over the years, the most important thing I've learned is that I have to listen to my body. Anyhoo, the point is that I feel lucky to be a part of events like this Spring on the Runway Fashion Show fundraiser...

I will be doing the makeup for this fashion show on Sat. 10/02/10. Sounds like it's going to be a fun event so if you are in the Kissimmee area, you should attend. And say "HI" to your favorite makeup artist! I think the line is totally cute and fun. Pictures are sure to come...

MP Networking Photo Shoot

I recently worked on a photo shoot for MP Networking (a group of models, photographers, makeup artists, etc. to collaborate on creative projects to build portfolios). This particular photo shoot was done with 6 models, 3 photographers, and 2 makeup artists. It was interesting having that many creative types in one room but it was also a lot of fun. The final prints were posted on the MP Networking Facebook page for people to vote on their favorites with the winners endieally liked the idea from the beginning and I think the final product will showcase all of our hard work very nicely. I definitely ordered a calendar! In the meantime, here are a few samples from the shoot:

premiere orlando beauty show

I had the great pleasure of assisting Brittany Allen, MUA of Atlanta for FHI Heat, Inc. at this past weekend's Premiere Orlando Beauty Show. WOW! I already had a great deal of respect for hair stylists but perhaps even more so after seeing the amazing artists at work during this trade show. Brittany was an absolute sweetheart to work with and a great makeup artist. I feel that I will always be developing my skill and learning how to be a better makeup artist so it was really cool to be able to watch Brittany at work and get tons of industry info. Here are the few pictures I could capture on my phone until it went completely dead:

As promised, here are a couple shots from a recent photo shoot I did. With makeup, the possibilities are endless so I wanted to try something completely out of the ordinary. I have fabulous friends. What can I say? They're all adorable and willing to give me full creative control over their makeup most of the time. So I asked a few to get together for a creative photo shoot to show a couple different looks. The pics are still in the process of being perfected but here is a little preview...
