I'm currently recuperating from a more than fabulous "staycation." LOL. It's difficult trying to get my bearings straight after such a great week hanging with friends, riding my bike for miles and miles, indulging in gourmet food and craft beer, and relaxing with my BF and family. I even managed to do the makeup for a wedding last weekend! I traveled to Anna Maria Island for my bride, Lauren... such a sweetheart. She planned every single detail of her wedding and made most of the decorations from Pinterest. And if for some reason you are not on +Pinterest yet, you are missing out my friend! It's the bomb.com. Hopefully I can post a picture of Lauren at a later time. I always end up too focused on doing the makeup to actually snap a pic Oh well...
So I thought I would share a few highlights from my vacay...
It all started at the Poseidon Spa at the Grand Bohemian in downtown Orlando for my mom's belated Mother's Day gift since I had to work on the actual day. A facial, a massage, mimosas, and pool time... yup, a relaxing start to vacay I'd say.
Then it was off to St. Augustine to celebrate the 40th birthday of my friend Greg...
After the BF finally came into town, we spent a few days catching rays and waves beachside. I went through an entire bottle of SPF 70 this weekend. And surprisingly (or maybe not), I ended up with no sunburn! Score!
I love doing anything outdoors and have always wanted to try paddleboarding. So this vacay, I was able to finally get my wish!! I highly recommend Central Florida Paddleboarding. There are a few different options, but I did the Wekiva River paddle from Katie's Landing in Sanford. The group was smaller (started out as 7 but dwindled to 5 after a few decided paddleboarding wasn't for them) so I felt like I wasn't lost in a crowd of people. Also, the instructor (Chuck) was very aware of what was going on with everyone so even though we were subjugated to mother nature's mercy, we were well cared for. I was surprised at how at ease I felt on the board... and that I didn't fall. Which is more than I can say for the BF. LOL. Although, I did manage to run into a tree... apparently I paddle as well as I drive. I'm definitely hooked though. I would LOVE to do a sunset beach paddle!!

good times, with really good people... next stop, +Bonnaroo!
