just like new!

Who would have thought that breaking a smaller window towards the back of my car would cost so much?!  My insurance company quoted me at over $800!!  Apparently, it is cheaper to break the larger pieces of glass... in case you ever need to break into your car.  Well, lucky for me I know people.  And good people.  As I've shared before, my Dad is involved in the towing industry and has been since before I was born.  I know most people think tow truck drivers are ruthless and despise the towing industry in general.  BUT... believe me, there are a lot of reputable towing companies out there and truly great people in the industry that I respect.

I attend the Florida Tow Show every year and was talking to one of my dad's friends, Bob Cortes who owns Cortes Towing.  GREAT guy... and very involved in his community.  In fact, if you remember THIS post about the Don Quijote Awards...  that's Bob!  Anyways, Bob was able to find me a brand new window at a junkyard for a reasonable rate and then hooked me up with Sanders Autoglass who came out to me to install the window!!  And the result...  like new!!  Take that, USAA insurance.  HA!  So the point is, if you find yourself in need of a tow or window replacement services...  you now know who to call!

whole again!
ugh...  the before

AND just for random FYI...  THIS is my Dad.

ready for my close-up

Typically, I'm a behind the scenes kinda gal.  That's the life of a makeup artist and I'm more than OK with that.  HA!  But because I love my Dad, I agreed to help out in front of the camera for a change.  As part of the 2012 Florida Tow Show last spring, I walked around with a camera crew to interview attendees and exhibitors.  A little known fact about me is that I have spent my whole life around tow trucks.  In fact, I used to get dropped off to school in a tow truck!  And I have seriously been going to the Florida Tow Show since I was about six years old.  Anyways, here are a few clips from the show...
