I feel as though a lot of the women I've met recently have been talking about the latest and greatest in Botox. While I am an advocate of promoting positive self-esteem amongst women through enhancing outward beauty, I have to say that I have mixed feelings about Botox. I can certainly see the benefits of getting Botox injections if it helps you feel better about your overall image... but I don't think plastic surgery is something to be relied on as a means to happiness. And I understand the difference between a facial injection to appear younger versus surgery for a face lift or breast enhancement. If that makes sense... In fact, I've done several makeup tutorials for women to help them conceal bruising/scarring from plastic surgery. And in my past life as a social worker (ah, how quickly you forget), I was definitely an advocate of Botox as a tool for reducing involuntary drooling for my clients. The obvious benefit being my client would feel better about themselves and hopefully be more accepted/integrated within the community. As a means of reducing laugh lines though... well, I beleive the saying "wrinkes are earned from a lifetime of laughter."
With that said, to Botox or to not Botox is your choice! Right?! I say do whatever will make YOU happy. Just know that a proper amount of research on topic at hand (in regards to any form of injection or surgery) is of the utmost importance. Check out THIS article on the pros and cons of Botox.
So after you have weighed your options and decided that Botox is the right choice for you, here is a provider that I actually trust. Read the flyer below regarding Botox injections being offered by my very own doctor's office... OB&GYN Specialists. I have been a patient here since I was 17 years old and love the place. IF I ever choose to get Botox, this is where the magic would happen...
